The Board
The Board of Governors
The Board of Governors plays an important role in supporting the Norwegian School in London. Together with the Head Teacher and staff, the Governors help set the School’s long-term direction, ensure good financial management, and uphold its values and educational standards. The Board is made up of dedicated volunteers who bring a range of professional experience to help the School thrive and continue offering an excellent education within a warm, nurturing environment.
The Board meets five times a year and ensures the school will be managed according to the current laws and
regulations. The head teacher, staff representative and the president of the pupils council joins every board
meeting.

“I am proud to be a member of the Board of Governors at the Norwegian School in London and contribute to the running of the school. Two of my children were pupils at the school in 2019-2020. They had the best time, both academically and socially. We all appreciated the extended classroom with focus on practical and place-based learning. I still remember very well the English presentations held at the bank of the river Thames where I was allowed to join English teacher Jenny, and my daughter still talks about her trip to Madrid. Also, both my children still keep in contact with classmates from the school. Personally, I loved being involved with the FAU, the Friday morning coffee in the Village and the monthly Mammapub”.

“We have been a part of the Norwegian School and Kindergarten community for almost ten years. All three of my children have enjoyed the wonderful and nurturing environment the school provides. It has been instrumental in building their confidence and helped them learn and maintain Norwegian even though our family language is English. I am thrilled to volunteer as a governor with the Norwegian School in London, because it allows me to give back to the community we love and contribute to the future success of the school.”
